Science class at Lovett

This is the science class that I visited. It was a second grade class and they were just starting a new unit on soil. They are planting a community garden and the first step is to learn about the different kinds of soil things can grow in. So, after a brief discussion, some ground rules and some instructions, we headed out to the Greenhouse where the hands on lessons took place! I had so much fun learning about soil! And there was a little visitor in the greenhouse waiting for us!

  1. Dear Ms. Smith-Willis,
I really enjoyed the pictures of the Lovett School. The first grade classroom is really colorful. I wonder if the first graders enjoy eating in the cafeteria as much as we do! Science class sounds very interesting and fun! I miss you and can't wait to hear all about the rest of your visit! Love, Harrison

  2. Dear Ms.Smith-Willis,
Thank you so much for sharing your visit to the Lovett School with us. Do you think the children there might want to see some pictures of our class as well. Perhaps we could keep in touch with the first graders over the course of the year and send pictures of our new lower school garden in the spring. I would love to learn more about soil and gardening. Have a safe trip home today! See you for school in the morning! Love, Harrison

Please show us more things next time. Many more things. I just wanted to be with you. What was your favorite thing to choose among what you saw? Mine was the science classroom. Thank you so much. Good night. See you tomorrow.
