Time to head back East!
After a wonderful conference, we all were happy to get back on the plane and head home. We learned a lot, had lots of great discussions and thought about lots of new ways to make our school more inclusive. This is us on the plane!

Mrs. Previti and the PoCC Choir!
Mrs. Previti decided to sing in the PoCC Choir. She practiced every day that we were there! On the last day she got up at 6 AM and practiced without even having her cup of coffee! She did a great job and had lots of fun! Doesn't she look happy?
Holiday Chocolate Fondue!
This is the group of people who went out one night for fondue. We left our hotel at 10:15pm, which would have been 12:15 AM for us back home!

Hip Hop Violinist!
This is a young man named Jeff Hughes. He graduated from a private school called Colorado Academy a few years ago. He studied classical violin and is now called Maestro Hughes. He combined classical violin with Hip Hop and performs all over the country. He was really great when he performed for us!

On Monday this is what we saw in the incubator!
By the afternoon, this is what we saw!
By the time we went home, some chicks had moved out of the incubator and into the brooder box!
By Wednesday morning, there were 11 chicks!

This is the front gate where we drove in.
Birds of Prey Show
First, we saw the birds of prey show. There was a beautiful barn owl. He flew over our heads to a perch right behind us and I took this picture. We didn't see the Eagle because he was having a bad hair day! He was molting and did not have most of his feathers. So, he stayed in his habitat that day.
This was the birds of prey show. It's hard to see the barn owl from here, but you can see the beautiful background. The gardens are a beautiful, wooded place. I saw turtles way across the lake, sunning themselves on a log.
The Butterfly Exhibit
Next, we walked down a long trail to the Butterfly Exhibit. It was a beautiful wooded walk with lots of nice flowers and plants along the way.
Owl Butterfly
Inside I saw lots of really gorgeous butterflies! I couldn't believe how big they were! This one is called an Owl butterfly. It has an "eye spot"? Can you guess why?
Blue Morpho Butterfly
This was the biggest Blue Morpho Butterfly I had ever seen! It's with the owl butterflies sipping natural sugar from the fruit in this dish.
Koi Pond
There was also a koi pond with lots of really, really big fish! People were feeding them.
