FREEZING IN DENVER!!!

Well, we made it to Denver!!! A stretch Hummer came to the Pingry parking lot to pick us up! Can you believe that? The students and teachers were very excited! But it was very early in the morning, so we had to keep our excitement quiet!

We arrived in Denver and gained 2 hours because this part of the country is 2 hours behind us... so it was about 12 noon when we got here, but really about 2pm our time. We were starving and looking for food right away! But, guess what? It was 18 degrees here and there is snow on the ground! I just turned on the news in my hotel room and it's going to be 1 or 2 degrees above zero tonight!!! Brrrrrrr!!!!! We need our warm woolies!!!!

We are here with 22 people from Pingry. I am posting some pictures on the side bar... It's almost time for us to go check in at the convention center. I will check in again later this evening, after I go to the gym, of course!

  1. We all had a busy day at school today. There were a lot of visitors at our open house today. We certainly have a lot of substitute teachers at Pingry. Your hotel room looks nice and cozy, but I bet you won't be spending too much time there. Enjoy your day tomorrow.

  3. Today at school Abby got a papercut and Hardy stabled his finger! For morning recess I played soccer and other I played Wall ball. It was 60 degrees here today, very different from your weather. Are you having fun in Denver? Today in library we got our Wish Books to take home and read with our family.
    Enjoy your trip
    Love, Jack

  4. Dear Ms. Smith-Willis,

We hope you are enjoying the convention. I love the picture with you, Ms. Mehta, and Ms. Miller. Do you think you will have time to go skiing up in the mountains? I miss you a lot.

  6. Hi Ms. Smith-Willis,

I know you are very busy at your convention, but I know you are seeing lots of your old friends from all over the United States!! Did you get any more snow? It was really warm here this morning, but got colder in the afternoon. Tomorrow we are all going to see "Alice in Wonderland" and 5 of my students are in it. I'm very excited to see it. If you have a minute...would you please take a picture of the Rocky Mountains for me?
    Hugs,
    Mrs. Euwer

  7. Dear Mrs. Smith-Willis,

I know I am not in your class but I wanted to post you a comment. I hope you are having a good time up in Denver. Are you going to go skiing when you have some time? Your class, 1-SW, did not get homework today. Lauren would have posted a comment but she is sleeping. What is it like up in Colorado? We are studying the states at this time.So I would like to ask who is the Governor of Colorado?

    Your Friend,
    Isabella

  8. Hardy - when we landed on Wednesday it was 18 degrees. It went down to 2 degrees that night. When we woke up on Thursday morning it was 8 degrees. It stayed cold all day. On Friday when we woke up it was 11 degrees, but the sun came out and it warmed up to 30 degrees during the day. It felt like a heat wave and we were really, really happy! They say 2-4 inches of snow is coming here on Saturday night. We're getting out of here before that!!!!

  10. Isabella - Im glad you posted a comment! I'm also glad that Lauren is sleeping! Her body must need some rest, like mine does! Maybe she will post a comment later in the weekend when she is all rested? There is no time for us to ski here... and the ski lodges are a long way from here. We are in downtomn Denver. Plus, Ms. SW doesn't snow ski. Only water skiing for me! I'm a WARM weather sports person! But the last time I went water skiing I broke my ankle. Oh well... Is Colorado your state for your state project? Mrs. Euwer will get me if I tell you who the Gov. of Colorado is! Are you trying to get me in trouble? I'll bet you can find out who it is on the computer, though...

  11. Jack - Im sorry to hear that Abby got a papercut and Hardy stapled his finger? What happened in there today? Sounds like everyone went crazy! That never happens when I'm there!! Oh well... I'll be back on Monday. I am jealous that it is 60 degrees and sunny! We are freezing here and they are expecting 2-4 inches of snow on Saturday! We'll be rushing to the airport so we can get out of here before the first drop falls! Have a good weekend! See you Monday!

  12. Hi Kareena! No skiing for us this time. There is no time and the ski lodges are a long way from her. It was very strange for me not to get off the plane in sunny, warm Atlanta!!! We are learning lots of things and having a good time. Of course, I have been at the gym in the hotel every day too! But I need warmer gym clothes for this part of the country!!! It's nippy here!!! I miss you too, and will see you on Monday!
